Here is a new valuable research tool on Upper South Carolina. Located in the North Western part of the state, Pickens County was carved out of the infamous "Pendleton District" in the year 1828. It is surrounded by the present day counties of Anderson, Greenville, Oconee Counties, S.C. and on the North by Transylvania County, N.C.
