WPA Records.

Williamson County, located in middle Tennessee was created on October 26, 1799 by the Tennessee General Assembly out of a portion of Davidson County. It was named for Dr. Hugh Williamson of North Carolina. The area has been the home of Mississippian mound builders and later the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek and Shawnee tribes of Native Americans.

These are very early records of the wills, inventories and sales of the estates of many of the early settlers in the area. The names are given as they are found in the original records of the county and no correction in spelling, etc of any of the names. The original page numbers are given and with the full name index so one can go back to the original books and verify the information if necessary.
