                                         DeKalb County, Missouri Records

DeKalb County, located in the north western portion of the state, was created on 25 February 1845 and named for Major General Johann deKalb, Baron of deKalb who served in the American Revolutionary War, especially at the Battle of Camden. Baron deKalb served in the War of Austrian Succession, the Seven Years War, and finally in the American Revolution. In this volume you will find a brief history of the county, Marriage Book A 1845-1865, Marriage Book B & C 1867-1878 and the Patrons of the Atlas of 1877. This latter item is most important as it gives the names of the residents of each section of the county, their occupation, Post Office, and date from which they migrated and when. This item alone is worth the price of this volume.
