These indexes use information from the WPA reports done in Cumberland County, Virginia, with the addition of information for some subjects taken from county will, deed, order books and other references. The first section is arranged alphabetically by subject, which would be an old house, church, mill, etc., and includes a list of owners' names, date of ownership if available, and brief calculated cemetery inscriptions. The second section is arranged alphabetically by owner name, followed by date of ownership if available, and subject/property name. The indexes give the genealogical researcher valuable information to help with further study of property and family history in Cumberland County.
