This history covers all the usual topics, and spans the time from the aboriginal Indians down to the early years of the twentieth century; one chapter has civil lists for 1788-1938, and another gives marriage records and marriage intentions for 1803-1937; two-thirds of the volume consists of genealogies of local families which are now made much more useful by the addition of a name index.
