Tennessee Records: Bible Records and Marriage Bonds

$59.00

This work contains a large collection of Bible records from private families throughout Tennessee. The Bible records found in these pages list marriages, births and deaths. Some of the entries include deeds, wills and obituaries, historical notes, biographical sketches and other pertinent information important to the gathering and maintenance of family records. The beginning of this work provides a chronological listing of all the marriages solemnized by Robt. Boyte C. Howell from 1827- January 1868. Also included is a summary of the history of Mt. Zion Church for 100 years (1832-1932). The marriage records of Knox County, TN (1792-1849), which originally appeared in the Tennessee Historical Magazine in 1920, are contained herein. These marriage record entries list the names of the husband and bride and the date they were married. Marriage Bonds for the town of Lebanon in Wilson County, TN are listed by W. P. Bouton, and cover the years from 1802-1819. The marriage entries are in chronological order, and provide the names of husband, wife, pastor, and sureties/witnesses. Information on the Lebanon County marriage bonds for the years 1820-1828, copied by Mrs. Acklen and Mrs. Elder, is also listed in order by year. Each entry for this section begins with the month and day of marriage followed by the names of husband, wife and surety. Complete with illustrations and an original surname index containing nearly 15,000 names.
